Offering a helping hand at St. Mary Catholic School is not just partnering in the mission of the school, it is showing up to create the school you want your student to attend, creating the community you want to be a part of, and being present for your student when they are here with us. 
There is no shortage of ways you can help here at the school, in our parish, at events, and in the classroom.  We have ample opportunities to volunteer outside of school hours on your time as well.

FAMILY VOLUNTEER HOURS

All school volunteers are required by law to complete and clear a background check.  The Catholic Diocese of Spokane requires a Diocesan Disclosure Form and attendance at the "Code of Conduct" VIRTUS Safe Environment training session each year before volunteering around St. Mary children. Please visit: virtusonline.org and click first time registrant to get started. Our location is: Spokane, WA (Diocese)
Background checks can take 2-5 business days to process. Virtus updates include: Annual online training course and background check renewal every 5 years.

VIRTUS REGISTRATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FORM

Once all requirements are fulfilled, volunteers must report to the school office to sign in and obtain a visitor badge.  Once the given task on campus has been completed, please return the badge to the school office and sign out.  

For our St. Mary's Families: Please visit Sycamore to log your required volunteer hours. Once logged on to Sycamore, click on: "My School" then "Service Logs" then "New Log" (blue button top right-hand side of screen) Choose your Opportunity and enter date, time, hours served, and please add detailed notes of the volunteering you did, then click "Submit."
